Is it hard to just be here?

YES. It's hard.

YES, I reach for my phone the moment I'm tired.

YES, sometimes I'm in the room, but not really there.

YES, sometimes I choose scrolling over a bedtime story, a phone call, or a quiet walk.

YES, the people I love notice.

Why we say it out loud

Because almost everyone feels it, and almost nobody says it. We smile, we say we're fine, and then we lose another evening to the scroll. We tell others to slow down and never do it ourselves. The struggle isn't the real problem. The loneliness of it is.

Saying it out loud is the door. Not to guilt, we have enough of that. To connection. When one person says "me too," everyone in the room breathes out. When we stop pretending we have it all figured out, there's finally room for something real.

You're not alone in this. And you don't have to fix it all today. One slow breath is enough.
